Method 1: Slow Cold Infusion (the patient, no-rush method)
Combine the lilac flowers and carrier oils in a glass jar.
Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place for 4-6 weeks, shaking occasionally.
After the infusion period, strain the oil and add the vitamin E oil.
Transfer to a dark glass bottle and enjoy!
Method 2: Quick Heat Infusion (for when you need it ASAP)
In a double boiler, gently heat the olive and almond oils.
Add the dried lilac flowers and let the mixture warm on low heat for about 2 hours. (Be careful not to overheat, as high temperatures can degrade some beneficial properties.). Stir regularly.
Strain the herbs using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
Stir in the vitamin E oil.
Pour the infused oil into a clean, dark glass bottle for storage.
Notes
Optional: 10 drops Lilac Essential Oil. Herbal infused oils do not usually maintain much scent, compared to their essential oil counterparts.
