1. Grow Bags: The Easy, Affordable Solution

These 10-pack of black grow bags are a steal at under $30. I love that they’re simple, sleek, and blend well into the garden without standing out too much. They’re perfect for growing things like peppers that I don’t have space for in my raised beds.

The best part? You can’t find pots this affordable anywhere else, especially when buying in bulk. Plus, if you’re like me and trying to keep a cozy cottage-garden vibe, grow bags are a great way to add an organic feel without the extra cost of fancy pots. Warning though, they do take a LOT of soil!

2. Frost Sheets and Cover Bags: A Game Changer for Cold Weather

Living in Ohio, I know the unpredictable weather all too well. For those late-season frosts, frost sheets and cover bags have been lifesavers. These covers make it so much easier to protect my plants from unexpected cold snaps. I also purchased utility clips that are incredibly helpful and clip right on to my raised beds.

These frost sheets aren’t just for the cold either; they work great as shade cloths in the hotter months.

3. Galvanized Raised Garden Beds: Durable and Stylish

After a cedar bed disaster (hello, termites), I switched to galvanized steel garden beds, and I’m never looking back. These raised beds are durable, resistant to pests, and surprisingly affordable. I chose a sleek ivory color to keep them understated, as I didn’t want them to overpower my garden’s aesthetic. They come in packs on 1 or 2 and a variety of colors.

The galvanized beds are compact, so they’re ideal if you’re working with limited space like me. If you’re looking for something larger, though, these may not be the right fit. But for small to medium-sized gardens, they’re a great addition and provide an aesthetic twist to your garden setup.

4. A Simple Yet Sturdy Trellis

I didn’t think I’d fall in love with this trellis, but here we are. It’s a tall, skinny six-foot trellis with just two feet between the rungs. The simplicity and sturdiness surprised me, especially given the affordable price tag. I have limited space in my garden, so this fit perfectly without feeling intrusive.

If you don’t have the time or desire to build your own trellis, this one is a great option. It took about 30 minutes to set up and has already proven to be durable and functional as my tomato trellis. Bonus: it blends nicely into my garden design without being too noticeable.

Note: It did not withstand a 100 year old oak tree falling on it. But otherwise, it’s incredibly sturdy and I think I will be re-purchasing.

5. Push Mower: A Quieter, Safer Alternative

I love mowing the lawn (yes, really), but I also have two young kids who are always running around. I used to mow the lawn with a traditional mower, but with my kids always outside, it felt a little too risky, especially since I can’t hear them well when the mower is running. That’s when I decided to invest in a push mower.

The Great Northern push mower has been perfect for keeping the lawn neat without worrying about safety. I can mow in my sandals (don’t judge me) and keep the noise level down while my kids play nearby. It’s quick, easy to use, and perfect for small lawns like mine. And let’s be real—it’s a little satisfying getting some light exercise while I’m at it!

6. Greenstock Planters: Vertical Gardening at Its Best

GreenStalk planters have been a revelation for my small yard. I have a quarter-acre lot, but much of it is taken up by my house, leaving me with limited space for gardening. These vertical planters have given me a way to grow more without sacrificing space.

I’m amazed by how well my strawberries are doing in these planters, and I can already see that I’ll need to buy more in the future. Even though they’re made of plastic, they don’t bother me like other plastic garden products. They have a sleek look and provide a functional, space-saving solution that I can’t get enough of.
